We are very excited to begin the process of perfoming readings of our newly finished play, Audition! The Play. Once we have open readings, we will post them here. For now, we are getting feedback from friends.

So what is the show about? Well, it is entirely possible that it is about you.

Our play is loosely (and sometimes not-so-loosely) based on all the crazy stories we have heard from our fellow actors about auditions they have attended. Some stories are sad, others are funny. There really aren't any sad ones. I made that up just now.

I mean, let's face it: there is nothing funnier than an audition gone horribly wrong. There you are, nervous as hell, about to attempt to show the person across the room from you in under three seconds that you are right for the job! That's what they say, you know. They are usually pretty sure they want you or not before you even utter a full sentence. So why do we get asked to sing 16 bars and do a monologue that is "no longer than one minute in length"?

Because they wanted to give us something to laugh about.
Right?

Well, maybe not. But that's what we are doing anyhow.
